The resolution rules clearly specify that the outcome is determined by the official appointment of the Prime Minister by the Governor-General following the 2026 election, with interim or caretaker roles explicitly excluded. Resolution relies on official New Zealand government records, with consensus reporting serving only as a secondary check. The long cutoff date of December 31, 2027, provides sufficient time for government formation negotiations to conclude without premature expiry.
