This market relies on a consensus of credible reporting rather than an official government confirmation or designated registry to establish whether a meeting occurred and where it took place. An encounter is defined as both leaders being present and interacting in person, which introduces potential debate over whether brief, incidental contact or passing exchanges at multilateral forums qualify as a meeting. The rules also include a specific territorial provision treating de facto Russian-controlled Ukrainian territory as Russia, though for this specific question focused on China, resolution hinges primarily on whether any qualifying encounter happens elsewhere first or occurs within China before the end of 2026.
