The market clearly specifies that it resolves positively if the Washington Capitals win the 2026-27 NHL championship. Resolution relies primarily on official NHL information, though consensus reporting is also permitted as a backup source. Participants should note the early resolution clause, which allows the market to settle to No as soon as the team is officially eliminated from contention. Additionally, there is a hard expiration date of June 30, 2027, at 11:59 PM ET, after which cancellation or a failure to declare a champion causes the market to settle as Other rather than waiting indefinitely.

Resolution rules
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed team is determined as the champion of the NHL for the 2026-27 season. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed participant to be named as the champion of NHL for the 2026-27 season per the rules of NHL (e.g., participant is eliminated), the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If multiple teams are declared winners, this market will resolve in favor of the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically. If this event is cancelled, postponed after June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or a champion has not been declared within this timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be official information from the NHL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Market explained
This market measures whether the Washington Capitals win the NHL Stanley Cup Championship for the 2026-27 season. An unusual feature is that if multiple teams are declared co-winners, the market resolves in favor of the team that comes first alphabetically.
How it resolves
The market resolves to Yes if the Washington Capitals are determined as the NHL champion for the 2026-27 season, including via an alphabetical tiebreaker if multiple winners are declared. The market resolves to No if the team is not named champion or if it becomes impossible for them to win, such as through elimination. The market resolves to Other if the event is cancelled, postponed past June 30, 2027, at 11:59 PM ET, or if no champion is declared by that cutoff. Resolution is decided using official information from the NHL or a consensus of credible reporting.
