The resolution criteria rely on a designated, official source: Google's Year in Search United States People list for 2026. The rules detail the URL, navigation path, and standard for determining the top-ranked individual. While Google's Year in Search lists reflect trending search spikes rather than absolute total search volume over the year, the rules clearly tie the outcome directly to the official list rather than subjective metrics. The timing is clearly bounded, resolving as soon as Google publishes the 2026 list or defaulting to a specified fallback outcome if the list is not released by March 31, 2027.
