The market sets a clear quantitative benchmark requiring at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators or equivalent processors placed into orbit by the deadline. A key challenge is that payload hardware specifications on space missions are often proprietary or not fully detailed in public announcements, creating uncertainty over whether a launch meets the threshold. Additionally, no official space tracking catalog or regulatory agency is designated to verify the onboard hardware; instead, resolution relies on evaluating a consensus across credible media reporting. The deadline and criteria for a successful orbital launch are otherwise straightforward.

Resolution rules
This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.

Market explained
This market measures whether an orbital data center equipped with at least 100 data-center-grade AI processors is successfully launched into Earth's orbit by December 31, 2026.
How it resolves
The market resolves to Yes if any qualifying orbital data center is successfully launched into Earth's orbit by December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. A qualifying orbital data center must be a spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent carrying computing infrastructure to provide data-center, cloud-computing, or AI services, and it must include at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors (such as NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent/successor chips). The market resolves to No if no such launch successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into orbit by the deadline. The resolution is determined by a consensus of credible reporting.
